When God’s Vision Scares You

Where do I even start here? This is a tough one because this is where we are. There are several things in our marriage and lives that we feel God are giving us a vision for that absolutely scares us. We know this is from God because only God could bring a vision like this to us.

Also if your vision doesn’t scare you then it’s not worthy of being called God’s vision. God is going to bring things through you that people will have to say it had to be God to make that happen.

What do you do when it scares you? What happens when this vision is put down by others? One thing you have to be careful of is who you share your vision with because not all people are looking out for your best interests or they may be well intended but just don’t understand.

There have been people in our lives that when told how we feel something is from God will say you better be careful or don’t get your hopes up or even some that say who do you think you are?

We have had it all so we now are careful somewhat of what we share. We want people to realize that sometimes you may be well intentioned but if you are putting down a vision someone has then you are 100% wrong!

Think about this, what if the vision that your friend or relative has is truly from God and you talk him out of it? Would you want that on your shoulders? I know I wouldn’t. Only time will tell if they have what it takes to make all of it happen.

I feel that if the vision comes from God no matter how big it is, God will make a way. I love what a pastor said at one of our Wednesday night services: Where the vision of God is leading, the provision of God is there!

So what do we do once we feel this is where God is leading? JUMP! That’s right I said jump and ask questions later. I would rather jump towards God’s vision and make some mistakes than to ask all kinds of questions and never start.

God will make the way. It doesn’t matter whether you have the money or resources; he will bring them as needed. You have to start and move forward. Without that, God won’t do much. He will wait patiently for you to move on what he said. Once he knows that you trust and have the faith, he will start to move obstacles out of your way.

Sometimes he may have you break through the barriers and sometimes the barriers will just be moved but either way if God gives you a vision, he will lead you to the right resources to make it happen.

A lot of time needs to be in prayer with God. God needs to speak through you so that he can guide you. Again, be careful who you tell. I think people can be the biggest factor in whether or not someone pursues the vision that God gives them.

Stay in God’s word as much as you can while you start on this journey that God is giving you. There are going to be so many times that you feel is this even worth it but remember nothing has ever been accomplished without a ton of defeat and struggles. Every big vision has to go through its fair share of attacks and yours will be no different.

If you haven’t done much with your life yet and you feel by God that he has called you to a big vision then you really have to be careful. The attacks will come hard from the people closest to you. And they will make valid points from why do you think God would call you? What makes you so special when you haven’t done anything yet? You don’t have the money or the resources to do that! That has never been done before?

Most of what is said will be well intended but God says GO ANYWAY and that’s all that matters. Look all through the bible, every person God used was someone who he probably shouldn’t have used in the world’s eyes but God is God! God will always use the insignificant to do the significant things in life.

Do you know why he does that? Because when that happens, he can ONLY get the glory. Imagine someone who was groomed all their life to do that one thing specifically, then once done most people will say we always knew he would do it and many would not credit God with it.

Now imagine someone who everyone considers a failure doing something big? How can they now say we knew he could do it? The only answer is that God had to intervene in his life to guide him to that vision and it can ONLY be from God.

That is why no matter who you are, if God calls then you jump. No matter how much it scares you. In fact the more it scares you the closer to God you will have to lean and the more glory God will get from it.

So, what if God hasn’t given you a vision yet for your life and marriage? Then tell God that you are ready and show him by creating an environment that draws God to you because he can trust you. Allow him to work miracles in your life and heart. Give him the freedom to guide you where he wants you to go.

Once you do that, God will bring things into your life that when you look back, even you will say WOW that had to be God even in the small times!
